Legal Business Management Programmes
Why Legal Business Management?
Whether you are a lawyer in private practice, in-house lawyer, functional specialist or general manager, in order to progress in your career you will need to develop a range of new skills. These are the skills that will prepare you to thrive in the legal businesses of the future.
The College of Law helps to equip professionals in the legal industry with these skills through a range of programs.
Legal Practice Management
The Legal Practice Management Course is an Australian course developed and run by leaders who also manage legal businesses. Their experience helps to ensure that you gain the understanding and skills you need to manage your own firm and broaden your career options.
This program meets the requirements of state regulating bodies (New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and Western Australia) and offers a solid ground in law practice management or as a refresher course for more experienced practitioners.
Master of Legal Business
This exciting and innovative new program is in development and initial subjects are available from February 2019.
Successfully leading a 21st century legal practice or law department requires a range of skills few professionals can learn ‘on the job’. This is particularly so in a time of volatility and change in the provision of legal services. Traditional management courses provide a solid grounding in various disciplines but are not tailored to the particular needs of the legal services industry.
The College of Law is introducing a series of subjects for both in-house and private practice which will build to a new qualification – The Master of Legal Business.
